Ugh. It disturbs me that Sweeney need be made PG-13 like "Chicago," "Moulin Rouge," and "Dreamgirls" when the source material is so much more substantial and darker than any of those fluffy musicals.
I really hope Burton doesn't succumb to the studio's demand by taking the edge off of Sweeney Todd.
HOWEVER, I stumbled upon this from the blog of Mark Salisbury who just wrote the Sweeney Todd "companion book":
"I shall be in Venice from Wednesday through to Monday and among the films I'm hoping to catch... And because I'm not going to be around for Tim Burton Day on the second Wednesday I won't be seeing a sneak preview of footage from Sweeney Todd which pains me but, hey, them's the breaks. Incidentally, all those reports of Burton being asked to cut back on the blood in the movie, don't believe a word of it."
Anyhoo--here's a description of the teaser trailer: http://johnnydeppreads.com/index.php?showtopic=2934
